There's sometimes when I look at pictures that they seem a bit "off". Like today I took a selfie, and my face looks different than usual. All day today my secretarial and ADHD personas were fronting simultaneously yet I look at a selfie from Saturday and it's more "me" looking.
Anyone else experience this?

"I get this, sometimes it's perception related because I'm older than some of my parts/alters expect me to look. But I have noticed that some parts of me hold my facial muscles differently. It's very subtle but I can tell there's a difference, especially around my eyes. And I've seen it with another person I knew with DID too, when one of their younger parts was fronting their face actually looked about 10 years younger and had this childlike quality to it."
"Usually I just feel "not me" in many photos, but some I have taken to identify specific alters... well I say some, but I just can think of one, because they're sitting very "prim and proper" which suits this specific alter. But it's really hard to tell, but my bf has helped identify some, not based on the pictures but based on what actually happened at that time. So I guess, not really, it's really hard to identify them... a photo can only communicate so much. I can really only think of "the one" photo that was fairly easily identified to be a specific alter, which was recent."
"i can usually tell who i was by looking in my eyes. my fiancée was able to tell us apart because i was smiling in one photo and not in the other. there are just some tells."
"I can see a difference, but idk who is who most of the time. I can tell when it's a little usually bc they make silly faces while taking pictures, but that's about it. The change in perception is crazy. Even down to the way things taste - as my alters have started coming out front more things have started to taste "like they used to" when I was younger. What's really trippy is having that perception change mid-meal 🙃🤣"
"Yes definitely. There is one picture where I look just like me, Star, and others even pointed out that something was different. And usually given context and looking, we can tell who it is!"
"I can tell pretty easily, sometimes it's the clothes we're wearing, the expression, the pose, or even just the actual vibes we get from the image!"
"Yep, theres a handful of photos I could probably group into each headmates presentation. The more masc alters are harder, as they're rarely "caught" on camera."
"i can tell who was fronting by the way we took the selfie. we all seem to take pictures of ourselves differently even if we all have the same body nd face. bigger smiles, wider eyes, or no smile and dead looking eyes to name a couple examples -kells, angel, jinx"
"I took a group trip last year and my husband and I laughed at some of the pictures where you can clearly see I was in a whole other world. I knew who I was in them and remember wondering if it would be noticeable. It sure was!!"
"Someone send me pic for like 2016 or smth. And i was like who is this person. Thats not me. That person felt like a stranger. Ofc we all changes in years. But i really felt there was a stranger in that picture ans that was supposed to be me."
"We haven't really noticed this in pictures, we don't usually take selfies or look back on old pictures. But we've had several people who knew about our DID mention how they can tell when someone else is fronting based off subtle stuff, i.e. body language, manner of speaking, etc."
"Biologically the face can look different due to period cycle, stress etc through the month.
But yea, i integrated 1 part because of a found pic pf her. And there's a difference "default expression" for everyone, so to speak."
"Some of us look visibly calmer or happier, which I find a little sad. 😭 We've also been told that our body language and posture look noticeably different, both in person and in photos."
"We prefer Snapchat filters so we end up recognizing each other but we all take pictures a little differently than the others."
"I tend to have more of a sweet but motherly looking face from what I'm told, while Charlie for example raises his chin, tightens his jaw and does almost a pursed smirk scowl smile. Then of course Chucky always has a curled corner lip.
Each of us just have a different resting face."
